BUET Alumni Association Canada invites children and youth to submit essays, poetry, audio, and video works commemorating International Mother Language Day and the historic sacrifice of February 21, 1952 language martyrs.
This initiative commemorates the historic events of February 21, 1952, when language martyrs laid down their lives to defend the right to our mother tongue—a sacrifice that remains a cornerstone of our collective cultural identity.

Follow these guidelines to ensure your submission is eligible for review and online publication
Open to all children and youth of BUET alumni families, including children and grandchildren. No age barrier—all ages are welcome to participate and showcase their creativity.
Submissions may be in Bangla, English, or bilingual formats. Choose the language that best expresses your creativity, emotion, and personal interpretation of the theme.
All submissions must be original, unpublished work created by the participant. Plagiarism or copied content will result in disqualification from the program.
Essays and poetry: Use Belbotika's online editor or email. Audio: MP3/WAV format. Video: MP4 format (720p or higher). Include participant name, age, and parent's name.
Choose your submission method: email directly to the committee (recommended) or submit through Belbotika platform by February 19, 2026. Tag online submissions with "IMLD 2026" for proper categorization.
Selected participants will receive recognition and visibility through online publication
Selected participants will be recognized and awarded at a formal online ceremony, celebrating their creativity, expression, and connection to language and heritage.
All selected submissions will be published online on Belbotika, with dedicated features highlighting BUET Alumni Association Canada families. No paper magazine will be produced.
Your work will be showcased to the BUET alumni community across Canada and beyond, offering young contributors online visibility and recognition for their talent.
